Bartholomew Park Winery is really the birthplace of viticulture in California. On this day two years ago, I still lived nearby. I was there to roam the excellent hiking trails ringing the property, as I did often. Not before a picnic on the Villa steps, however. The elegant Italianate Villa was rebuilt after a devastating fire and is now a museum. Do not visit Sonoma Valley without checking this place out at length and - of course - tasting their wonderful wines.

A beautiful shot. It looks cool and inviting even though I know in summer it can get pretty warm. We escaped the hustle and bustle of LA, but moved a little farther north - Powell River, BC. We moved back to the water rather than the land - come see what I mean. For my first Sky Watch Friday I chose a solar halo for my contribution. I invite you to come see. -- Margy

Very nice Sky Watch image! "Louis" likes the juxtaposition of the classic structure of the column against the fluidity of the sky.

We live very close to wineries here in Canada..yes we grow grapes here too! We are famous for our ~icewines~
in the Niagara Falls area.
