It's official: Pepper has a little brother!!

Very exciting news! After being alone here for two years, we had to get Pepper a friend to share this great life with. Finally on Craigslist, we made a connection...

MEET WEEDERMAN!!!!!

Weederman is a mix of Cairn Terrier and Chihuahua. He's one year old, healthy as can be and he's brimming with joy!

What's up with the name, you ask? Larry and I enjoyed a comic strip that ran for a long time down in the Bay Area called "Mister Boffo and his Wonder-dog Weederman".

BELOW: Here's a frame from the comic strip - that's Weederman at the top right. He was always there somewhere in the frame, and always seemed to know what was really going on in the cartoon's events and situations. We thought that Weederman was a great name, and that if we ever had a funny little dog that had to be in the action all the time, we'd call him that.
So, he's made himself right at home. And it's been pretty easy so far! He's apparently totally housetrained, and that's a miracle to us, not wanting to assume that any new dog is. Also, he was already neutered so we don't even have to hassle with that! The main thing is that Pepper really loves him. He enlivens her days from the moment we get up to the moment we all go to bed. They play together like two best buddies and Pepper is not jealous of her food or toys. I admit to being a little worried about that, she's a bit of a brat... but she's just delighted with him and I think he's just the perfect little guy for our place here.

They both love to take a sunbath. And they both love to chase and be chased, check around for mice and squirrels, and go for long walks.

Every morning and every evening we have the "Toy Olympics" in the family room. They love to race around on the thick carpet in there and play with all the squeakers and stuffed toys.

Weederman loves to be outside and that's great - we are outside a lot here. He looks very handsome in his new raincoat. We are so glad to have found him and so glad that his former owner selected us from an avalance of phone calls and email responses to her Craigslist posting. She felt that it would be a great fit here, and she was right.

Welcome, Weederman!!!!

We love you!!!!

Oh gosh, I got an error message so I do not know if you got my comment or not. Sorry if this is a duplicate!

Congratulations! And welcome to your Forever home, Weederman! What a cutie. I am very glad that Pepper and Weederman are already fast friends.

As Pepper's and now Weederman's Oma, I am proud of both of these grand-dogs! I knew Pepper would be a good big sister and since there are more than a few mice to go around, the little bro might not be such a burden. Kudos to their parents, Larry and Bonnie, for raising Pepper from near-scratch and now Weederman gets in on one of the best places in the U.S. to live if you are a dog - or a person. Oma

Ms. Story,
We were looking up photos of mixed terrier breeds and saw your pictures of Weederman! We had a dog just like him and had never known what breeds he was. We figured he was a Cairn mix and from your blog-we were right! He looked exactly like Weederman!

Our Skittles passed away this last April and I didn't think we would ever be able to find another dog like him. He was the best dog we ever had and we miss hime so much.

Looking forward to any insight you could provide.

I stumbled on your blog, by trying to identify our puppy that we rescued from a shelter in December, she was with her mom and the rest of the litter when we adopted her, the mother was a full chihuahua, and her father, is a mystery, but she looks alot like your pepper. :)

Our puppy that we rescued in December looks a lot like your pepper, we know that she is part chi, because she was with her mom and the rest of the litter at the shelter, mot sure what the father was.

I stumbled on your blog from looking at chi mixes.
