The "Sonata" Cosmos have really brightened up their spot in the garden with hot pink and purple-fuchsia colors.
This big purple flower is home to a pure white spider. We have been spying on him for a few days. You can see him at the base of the horizontal petal at right. Closeup shot of him down at the bottom of this post. Achtung, arachnophobes!
BELOW: A bumblebee spent the night "out" on this pink cosmo blossom. His saddlebags are still stuffed with pollen, but he's frozen in sleep. He did eventually wake up and get back to work when the sun reached him later.
BELOW: Spider candid shot! I actually caught the white spider enjoying a meal al fresco! Looks to be an aphid. I did not see this until I looked at the high-resolution photo later. Wow!

Well, if you have to get caught out overnight, you might as well have a beautiful cosmos to rest on ;) I always think it's cool to find spiders with their prey. It must be the season for spiders dining al fresco though. I just found one dining on a butterfly! I'm drafting that post now. Drop in tomorrow afternoon for a peek.
