"Infrared" Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus)

These sunflowers were gorgeous this year. The cool weather helped them stay fresh and looking great longer. I would like to grow these every year!

The "Infrared" colors are amazing. They are "pollen free" which makes them perfect for cutting and enjoying indoors. No mess on your table top.

Gorgeous burgundy, plum, oxblood and terracotta colors.

Here is a link to the seeds I started with, online at Territorial Seed. Try these next year, they are amazing!!

What a pretty color! Next year I need to branch out and grow Sunflowers in other colors.

Truly gorgeous! I love the intense hues. I gave away a number of sunflower seeds to a friend last year because they were pollen-free. I'd bought the wrong ones by mistake. My bees wouldn't forgive me if I'd planted them, but these really are lovely!

So glad you like the pics!! It's interesting, the bees are all over these Infrared sunnies, I think they may be pollen-free but not nectar-free?? They do seem to have good value to the busy bees. We seem to have mostly bumblebees here. Cheers!!
